Step by step instructions on how to measure correctly

The process of measuring your windows is very straightforward. You will be measuring each panel individually and reporting your measures on the notepad on our website. We advise to get a second person to measure your windows, but don't worry, our Airshield Glazing panels are designed to allow some margin of error thanks to the compressing foam surrounding the panel.
STEP 1

Choose your measuring tool

You can measure your windows with either a regular measuring tape or with a professional laser measuring tool. Both will provide accurate results to submit to our website when you are ready to place your order. You can purchase one of these tools on our page here.
STEP 2

Ensure there is enough gap for panels

First of all, you need to verify that there is enough gap on your window frame to install the panels. Sash windows regularly have about 20-22mm gap, and the minimum required for installation is just 13mm.

Another key requirement is that the casement is straight and not rounded, and that the windows are not arched.
STEP 3

Measure window width

You will be measuring each window panel individually. To measure the width, place the tape on one side and pull it across to the other side making sure the tape is straight. If you are using the laser measuring tool, the process will be even easier.
STEP 4

Measure window height

Now measure the height, following the same process: place the tape on one side and pull it across to the other side making sure the tape is in a straight line.
STEP 5

Measure in two points if larger than 60cm

If your panels are larger than 60cm, we advise to measure the window in two separate points. If you get slightly different results, simply note the average figure between the two.
STEP 6

Note measurements on notepad

Give each panel a name (e.g. 'Bedroom 1 left') and report the measurements. You can do this on a notepad, or directly on our website on the order page here.
STEP 7

Repeat for all panels and place order

Repeat the process for each panel and each window, and report the results on our webpage to place your order here. The measurements will be reported in millimeters (1cm = 10mm).
